Add products, SKUs and price lists

A product has one or more SKUs (pack sizes). Prices live in price lists, from a company default down to a special price for one party.

Everything you sell is a product with one or more SKUs, which are its pack sizes. Prices are kept in separate price lists, so you can give different prices to different customers without changing the product.

Add a category

  1. Open Products in the Management group.
  2. Use Add category, type the Name and Save. Categories group your products, for example by type of masala. Products without one show No category.

Add a product

  1. Click Add product.
  2. Enter the Name and choose the Category.
  3. Tick VAT exempt if the product carries no VAT. Taxable products have 13% VAT added on invoices.
  4. Save. The product appears in the list.

Add SKUs

  1. Click Add SKU and choose the Product.
  2. Enter the SKU name, such as "100 g pouch".
  3. Set the Unit. The default is "pcs".
  4. Enter the Pack size and an optional Barcode.
  5. Enter the MRP (NPR).
  6. Enter the Reorder level. When stock falls below it, the item appears under Low stock.
  7. Enter Net weight (kg) per unit. For 100 g, type 0.1. Weights are used for kg totals on orders, targets and reports.
  8. Save.

Products and SKUs that you stop selling can be marked Inactive.

Set prices

Prices are found under Price lists, reached from the Products page.

  1. Click Add price list and give it a name.
  2. Choose how it applies. The Company default list is used for everyone who has no more specific list. A list for a Party type applies to every party of that type. A list with Any (override list) is used for special prices.
  3. For each SKU, enter the Price (NPR) and click Set price.
  4. To give a party its own prices, open the party and choose that list under Price list.

Which price wins

When an order is priced, gamitrack looks for a price in this order: the party's own list, then the list for its party type, then the company default. If none has a price for the item, the app shows No price.

Tip: Set the company default list first. Add special lists only where a customer really gets different prices.

Tip: Enter weights correctly. Officers' monthly targets are often measured in kg.
